Dayz Numbered

Havent writtne anything in a while.

Life has that tendency to keep you from doing what you were suppossed to be doing.

yet, life never really stopped us.

Our choices or lack there of have left us right where we put ourselves.

Nowhere.

So, when you wake up with a steamy pile of hangover tomorrow, remember this.
You just wasted another day doing the same ol' shit you done 5,000 times before.

Yeah, keep blamin' it on life.

Paint-Assimilate

Paint Assimilate

We can paint a picture in our mind that creates a substandard self-image ourselves.
Believing in an image of attraction that we’ve created in our mind can significantly limit our chance of finding true love, or at least a really good one-night stand.

Once we have set our personal ‘good-looks’ status in our mind we then start to assimilate that perspective on everyone we’d meet. As such, we start to think such things as, “I believe I’m only at a level five of attractiveness, and this person is at least a seven and a half, maybe an eight, so there’s no way they’d be interested in me, so I’m not going to put myself out there to fail.”

And, it goes on like this until you become so insecure about how you look that you end up dating level two minions from hell, which despite all ego aside, even ugly people find unattractive. Or, worse yet, you end up with someone you believe to be a match based on looks and presume this will be the best that you can do.

Damn, that’s sad.

That’s why I love the quote from Abraham Lincoln: “Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.”

Then, there’s another quote from Dr. Wayne Dyer: “Don’t believe everything you think.”

Why do we do this to ourselves?

Why is hearing ‘no’ so devastating?

Maybe we are just too caught up on the ‘looks’ end of it that we actually start to believe what we Paint and Assimilate and than we never give ourselves the chance.

Perhaps we need to start living up to a higher standard of ourselves that we expect of other people and not invest so much into the ‘looks’ end of things.

In that case, I’m so full of myself that I’ll never find anyone good enough!
(Just be careful not to take anything too far when it come to the way you think; chances are you are not 100% right).

Wake up call on a sleepless night

Perhaps you don't realize how your life is directly connected to the things you do or have done.

For example:

You act irritable when your mailbox key gets stuck causing great difficulty getting to your precious mail.

Your irritable only because you have not slept well in days.

You haven't slept well in days because you've constantly stayed up watching late night television drinking Starbucks double mocha-chinos.

The only reason your staying up so late because you have large amounts of pent up energy from not getting enough physical excercise each day.

You don't get enough exercise each day because you too exhausted from working overtime that is helping pay the bills.

You working so much overtime because you don't have a good enough job to pay the bills because you didn't bother finishing grad school and now are leaving beyond your means.

You live beyond your means because you believe you have the right to the finer things in life such as flat screen televisions and an upscale car.

You believe the finer things in life make you happy and here you are in debt, out of shape, over-worked, and restless, all the while blaming everyone or everything else for you displeasure in life, and now you can even get to your mail that reminds you of how much debt you possess.

This is your wake up call on yet another sleepless night.

The Fog Horn Effect

If you're not used to traveling on big boats such as I am, but have at least had the pleasure of embarking on a cruise ship for a vacation, or at least a ferry ride to lose the police then you may have experienced being scarred to death or almost soiling oneself when the Fog Horn blew loudly when leaving port.

Now, even if you have not experienced the Fog Horn effect, you've surely experienced this effect at some point in your life, where something caught you off guard out of nowhere, causing an immediate reaction to the thing or situation that caught you off guard, sending your heart into a minor cardiac arrest or at least your emotions into a whirlwind of frenzy.

These times that we are caught off guard by such things as a Fog Horn is completely understandable. When we experience something that catches off guard like a loud noise, its only natural to have that "OMG!" look on your face, placing one hand over one's chest as to catch your heart before it pops out of your chest.

In my life, I still can't get over controlling myself when I'm caught off guard by a loud noise like a Fog Horn, unless I'm particularly paying close attention to my surroundings and know the noise is coming. Yet, as it is in life, we are not always prepared for what's coming next. And, in some events that catch us off guard we can tend to over react considerably to the situation, allowing our unconscious selves react without thinking, just as an automatic reaction to a Fog Horn.

It's been my goal over the years to prevent myself from reacting in such a way to such events where my emotions overtake my actions, which ultimately can make my behavior less than desirable. For example: When I'm cut off in traffic I don't become enraged and start spouting off profanities at the other driver. Instead, I remain calm, maintain control of the vehicle, and my emotions. Then, I can concentrate and follow the person who just cut me off and let all the air out of their tires. (LOL! Just kidding).

As much fun as that may be, the real point is that I don't let my emotions take control of me. The philosophy being that I'm always attempting to maintain control of my emotional state and not let every mishap in life overtake me that can determine how I react, thus causing me to live in a perpetual state of unconsciousness opposed to living at a higher level of consciousness.

If you live in undesirable conditions and have Fog Horns going off in your life more repetitively than you'd prefer, and are your behavior is constantly charged that can lead to inflamed behavior such as complaining or self-loathing, than you need to become aware you are living on a lesser plain of existence.

It's okay to have the occasional fog horn catch you off guard, we are merely human after all.
Just understand how adversely your behavior can effect you when you are not in control. The philosophy is...strive to live more Consciously in every moment of your existence and stop being such a whiny little bitch.
